The
probability group at Beijing Normal University |
The
project of the creative research probability
group at Beijing Normal University, supported by NSFC (2002--2010),
is entitled "Interacting Particle Systems, Markov Processes,
and Spectral Theory". Mainly, it is aimed to "infinite-dimensional
stochastic systems with interactions". Roughly speaking, the
study consists of three directions, "interacting particle systems
and measure-valued processes", "stochastic calculus and
geometry", "Markov processes and spectral theory".
The representative tools developed by the group are coupling methods,
functional inequalities, and skew convolution semigroups. Since
2012, the group is mainly supported by the 985 project of the Ministry
of Education through the university, as well as a grant from NSFC
and some financial supports from other sources including cooperated
universities. |

In
2001, when we applied for the group's research grant from NSFC,
the names listed on the application form are the following: Mu-Fa
Chen, Feng-Yu Wang, Zeng-Hu Li, Yu-Hui Zhang, Yong-Hua Mao, Wen-Ming
Hong (was in USA and so was missed in this picture), and Ying-Zhe
Wang |
In
2004, Mei Zhang joined into our group, and Wen-Ming Hong came back
from USA. |
|
|
In 2006,
Jing-Hai Shao joined our group.
In the first
row on the right, Prof. Shi-Jian Yan, is the founder of the probability
group at BNU, and Prof. Zi-Kun Wang on the left is the group's
adviser.
|
In 2007,
Yu-Tao Ma joined our gourp, and in 2008 Hui He joined.
In 2006,
the group was awarded the National May 1'st Labor Certificates
(for groups). Only one such award was made to the universities
in the country in that year.
